			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Internet Retailer has just announced their 2010 list of the 100 best retail e-commerce sites and <a href="http://www.case-mate.com/">case-mate.com</a> has made the cut!  Wow! This a huge accomplishment for the entire <a href="http://www.case-mate.com/">case-mate.com</a> team!  We have been working really hard on improving the site this year and I am so excited that the editors of internet retailer took notice. We just wrapped up a strong Black Friday week (yes we stretched it into an entire week <img src='http://blog.andrewknight.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  ) and I am looking forward to carrying this momentum into 2010!</p>

<p>Astral Brands is seeking an Online Marketing Manager to manage specific online marketing programs – including paid search, natural search, e-mail and affiliate marketing – for its Health &amp; Beauty brands. (<a href="http://www.aloette.com/">Aloette</a>,<a href="http://www.purminerals.com/"> PurMinerals</a>, and <a href="http://www.cosmedix.com/">CosMedix</a>)</p>
<p><strong>Health &amp; Beauty Products Paid Search</strong><br />
Direct the overall strategy of the paid search marketing program, and manage over 100,000 keywords on the three major search engines: Google, Yahoo and MSN.</p>
<p><strong>Health &amp; Beauty Products E-Mail Program</strong><br />
The Online Marketing Manager will need to direct the strategy of the e-mail programs for the Health &amp; Beauty Products brands. In addition, the Online Marketing Manager will need to write up the Creative Briefs, make content and design recommendations, work with the executive team on the approval process, and QA the final emails that come through. Each brand will have a minimum of two emails per week.</p>
<p><strong>Health &amp; Beauty Products Natural Search</strong><br />
The Online Marketing Manager will need to optimize the content on the current web sites, as well as write the title tags, meta description and meta keywords for all new pages. In addition, the Online Marketing Manager will need to oversee a copywriter responsible for writing and posting specific content pages on each brand.</p>
<p><strong>Health &amp; Beauty Products Affiliate Marketing Program</strong><br />
The Online Marketing Manager will need to direct the strategy of the affiliate marketing programs for all web sites, and manage Performics on a day-to-day basis. The Online Marketing Manager will work with the executive team to make recommendations on exclusive affiliate promotions and other ways to boost affiliate traffic.</p>
<p><strong>Job Requirements: </strong><br />
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, English, or related field.<br />
- 4+ years of experience managing online marketing programs.<br />
- Experience in the beauty industry is preferred, but an interest is required</p>

Wow! This is big news as N2N had made a huge push in the last year to gain a footing in the competitive ecommerce platform space.  I even think they were the lead sponsor at Shop.org or Internet-Retailer this year!</p>
<p>This is really disappointing as I thought they had a good idea with this model. I helped implement <a href="http://www.demandware.com/">Demandware</a> at <a href="http://www.gardeners.com/">Gardener&#8217;s Supply</a> which was the underlying technology behind N2N.  I hope this decision will not have a ripple effect with Demandware as I think they still have a great offering.</p>

Sears is one of my top 5 competitors so I follow them pretty closely and this is <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=sears+spyware">big news</a>. The <a href="http://community.ca.com/blogs/securityadvisor/archive/2007/12/22/sears-update-response-to-rob-harles-vp-shc-community.aspx">VP&#8217;s response</a> and the counterpoints are even more amazing.</p>
<p>You might have yourself covered from a legal perspective (page 10 of a 26 page privacy policy) but you are undermining your customers.  People take privacy seriously.  If you are going to install tracking software that monitors all internet behavior it better be explicit, in 20 point font,  with a VERY clear OPT IN.  With that said, I would never have approved something like this.  I wonder what they were doing with the data and if they were getting any value out of it.</p>
